I stumbled across this convenience store last summer.  The summer before, I remember it open.  Sometimes convenience just doesn’t last.

The HDR was shot handheld and I give thanks to Photomatix for the awesomeness it does with alignment.

An HDR photograph taken in Toronto, just outside the Kensington Market! I converted it to black and white because I am pretty much in love with black and white HDR these days.   Tomorrow, if you come back – I’ll post the colour image.  I’m going to post something in the actual blog here soon too about an idea for this place come 2010 – it will be about using our imagination.

The handheld HDR technique really allows for some interesting experiments. This image here is approaching a church. It makes me think that I am intoxicated, and everything has a bit of a surreal feel to it.  I’m approaching the church because I am about to confess.  If the photograph was fully sharp, I wouldn’t get this effect and it would have a totally different feel.

Not much to type out today! Just glad that I am updating!   Been in the trenches, trying to get things going! Having lots of fun and absorbing the love of what I am doing right now! Hope you’re liking the new design for the site too!   This photo shows off the concrete block! HDR Photography brings out some nice texture in that wall.

We took the Big Red Bus Tour in Vancouver and it drove us all over the place.  I shot this in 3 shots while the bus was stopped at a red light.  It allowed me to finally get 3 consistent handheld photos for merging into HDR.  I love how the people look so real.  I think this is looking at how awesome and fun a redevelopment of Robson Square will be there in downtown Vancouver.
